ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effects of postoperative management based on health promotion strategies on weight control and symptom improvement in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS). Methods:A total of 120 OSAHS patients who underwent uvulopalatopharyngoplasty(UPPP) between January 2024 and May 2025 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group, with 60 patients in each group. The control group received routine postoperative management, while the intervention group received a multidisciplinary comprehensive management program based on health promotion strategies for 12 weeks. Body mass index(BMI), polysomnography(PSG) parameters, Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS) scores, and Quebec Sleep Questionnaire(QSQ) scores were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results:After 12 weeks of the intervention, the intervention group showed significantly lower BMI, apnea-hypopnea index(AHI), and ESS scores, and significantly higher lowest nocturnal oxygen saturation(LSpO2), mean nocturnal oxygen saturation(MSpO2), and QSQ scores compared to the control group(all P<0.05). Conclusion:Postoperative management based on health promotion strategies can effectively promote weight control, improve objective sleep respiratory parameters and subjective daytime sleepiness symptoms, and enhance the quality of life in OSAHS patients. It is an effective strategy for consolidating surgical outcomes and optimizing postoperative management.
